Spielberg created a beautiful, thought-provoking balance between the wonder of extraterrestrial life and the harsh reality of human politics. Shifting the focus away from explosive "death quest" ET's to government censorship and empathy for the aliens puts it right in line with his classic E.T. and Close Encounters roots, but with a sharp modern twist. Colin Firth is brilliant, yet a sharp contrast to Emily Blunt's frantic, high-energy performance.

DEEP WATER REVENGE
Mutiny, like many of Jason Statham’s movies, is not for the faint of heart, but it delivers the same thrills and chills as his previous films. The movie moves quickly as Statham begins righting the world's wrongs again, this time tackling the heavy subject of human trafficking.
He elicits the help of a corporate employee played by Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy, Annabelle), whose loyalty to her
company wanes once Statham makes her aware of the illicit cargo. As is typical for a Statham film, there are endless clashes with brutal henchmen and a maniacal captain intent on protecting their valuable payload. While the movie won't be up for any Academy Awards and occasionally loses its way with an unnecessary subplot, or two it ultimately delivers a brutal, satisfying ending that everyone can cheer for. If you are looking for a fun 95 minutes of action, go see this movie. You won’t be disappointed.
DUDE, WHERE'S MY REALITY
Backrooms is a weird and often confusing story that creates fear through its strange feeling of being trapped. The story takes place in an unsettling, endless maze of empty rooms and hallways, in a failing furniture store where danger can appear at any moment.
One of the movie’s strongest points is its mysterious characters and often bizarre surroundings that make the viewer guessing what's next. The odd, repetitive rooms, eerie sounds, and sense of isolation keep the audience uncomfortable throughout the film. Backrooms builds tension by making viewers wonder what might be lurking in the shadows or around the next corner.
Overall, Backrooms is an enjoyable psychological experience that is truly unique. I would recommend it to people who enjoy scary movies that focus more on tension and mystery than on graphic violence.
CITIZEN VIGILANTE: JUSTICE NEEDS A REWRITE
Citizen Vigilante is an action-thriller with an often repeated plot, that comes up short in many ways. The story is predictable, characters underdeveloped and the action is so violent one wonders why you wasted my time with this dreadful movie. Although the action scenes are entertaining at times, this is at the cost of a well-developed plot and actors that are so exaggerated it becomes silly at times. Overall, the movie is a real sad reminder of how bad movies are made.
A LAWSUIT WITH A BANG
As a baby boomer, some of my earliest memories are of the excitement I felt on Saturday mornings—getting up in my pajamas, grabbing some breakfast, and watching Looney Tunes cartoons. One of my favorites was always the Road Runner and Coyote.
Coyote vs. ACME takes an interesting spin on that classic story, meandering its way through funny lines, animated characters mixing with live-action people (hello, Roger Rabbit!), and some unbelievable stunts.
What develops is a funny, witty, and surprisingly entertaining film. Like many movies these days, it also has a subtle message beneath the humor. The combination of animation and live action makes the movie a visual wonder, while the story follows real human characters trying to determine in a court of law who is responsible for the Coyote's failure to catch the roadrunner. John Cena and Will Forte, playing opposing lawyers, are perfect for their roles and add a great deal to the movie. Their performances help keep the story moving and provide plenty of laughs along the way. I would recommend this movie to anyone, but especially to baby boomers who remember the good old days of getting up on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons. Coyote vs. ACME definitely has its nostalgic moments, and for those of us who grew up with these characters, that's a big part of its charm.
